Certain kitchen stoves that were sold in Canada have been recalled due to a fire hazard, officials say.

Health Canada said in a notice that the front mounted knobs on the recalled ranges can be turned on by accidental contact by humans or pets.

The recall involves Insignia gas ranges with the model numbers NSRGFGSS1 and NS-RGFCGS2.

They’re stainless steel with five front knobs on the oven and say “Insignia” on the bottom of the oven door.

The model number is listed on a sticker that’s on the inside of the bottom drawer.

There were 702 sold in Canada from November 2021 to February 2026, while 3,821 were sold in the United States.

The company hadn’t received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada as of June 17.

“In the United States, the company has received one report of knobs being activated by accidental contact and no reports of injuries,” the notice said.

Consumers are being advised to immediately stop using the recalled ranges and contact Best Buy Canada to get a free set of knob covers.

Best Buy can be reached by phone at 1-800-566-7498, by email at [email protected], or via this website.
