UPDATE: More cheese has been recalled in Canada
Certain cheese that was sold in Ontario and Quebec has been recalled.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a notice Wednesday that it’s being pulled from shelves “due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.”
The affected product is the Auricchio brand Taleggio D.O.P. Cheese.

It’s 200 g in size, has the UPC number 8 004603 104099 and the following codes are impacted: L 2524600 Best Before: 28/04/2026.
The CFIA said the recall was triggered by the company and there haven’t been any reported illnesses associated with the cheese.
Consumers are being advised to check if they have the product. It should not be consumed and should instead be thrown out or returned to where it was bought.
“Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness,” the CFIA said.
“Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. In severe cases of illness, people may die.”
The CFIA said it’s conducting an investigation which could lead to more products being recalled.
This is the latest in a series of cheese recalls that have been issued recently due to Listeria.
