After some media outlets reported otherwise, Hamilton Public Health confirmed in an email to InTheHammer.com that it did, in fact, reach out to Cause & Effect “as a result of a client with COVID-19 attending the premise”.
The mountain restaurant, located at 1784 Stone Church Rd E, posted on Facebook and Instagram that the customer visited the restaurant on Saturday (July 25), between 8 p.m. and midnight.
“All of our staff are required to wear masks and practice proper sanitation, which we are doing,” read the post.
“We are a small business, we have brought in professionals to help with social distancing and we have been following the rules for stage 2 and stage 3 opening.”
On July 24, Hamilton was given the green light to enter Stage 3 of Ontario’s reopening plan; which means restaurants are permitted to allow customers to dine indoors.
“We have had a professional company sanitizing our restaurant with an Electrostatic disinfectant and will continue to do so until this virus is gone,” continued the post from Cause & Effect.
