A development plan has been approved for the Millcroft Golf Club.

Last year, the City of Burlington received an official submission to build new homes and an apartment building on parcels of land on the Millcroft Golf Club in the northern part of the city.

The official submission proposed to build a total of 98 homes and one mid-rise apartment building.

The purpose of the applications was to allow five portions of the subject lands to be redeveloped with residential uses.

On September 21, 2020, Millcroft Greens hosted a virtual pre-application community meeting to discuss the proposal to redevelop portions of the Millcroft Golf Course.

In November 2020, it was announced that developers were in fact moving ahead with plans to build housing on the Burlington golf course.

Further discussions on the applications for this proposal will take place at a Statutory Public Meeting on March 2, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. and Burlington residents are invited to tune in. Due to COVID-19, the meeting will be virtual.

The meeting will discuss the proposed plan of subdivision consisting of 98 residential lots and blocks for private roads, stormwater management and buffers.

Currently, all of the subject lands are zoned “Open Space” in the City’s Zoning By-law. Additionally, they are proposed to be rezoned to residential zones with site-specific development standards which relate to setbacks and building height.

Residents are reminded that since the upcoming meeting is a Statutory Public Meeting, registration in advance is not necessary in order to speak.

However, those who do wish to arrange to speak in advance may do so by registering online or contacting Jo-Anne Rudy, Committee Clerk at (905) 335-7600 Ext. 7413 or by emailing [email protected].

Speakers are limited to a maximum of 10 minutes each and will be webcast online.
