Power outage Mississauga affecting 1700 homes and businesses

There is a power outage affecting thousands of Mississauga residents today (April 20.)

Around 5:30 p.m., the utilities company Alectra, reported that approximately 1,758 homes and businesses were experiencing a power outage.

A map provided by Alectra highlights some of the areas in Mississauga that are currently without power.  These include:

  • Winston Churchill Boulevard
  • Tenth Line West
  • Aquitaine Avenue
  • Derry Road
  • Harris Road
  • Vanderbilt Road
  • Olympus Mews
  • Ganymede Road
  • Bloomfield Drive
  • Harris Crescent
  • Edenwood Drive
  • Collista Court
  • Trelawny Circle
  • Forest Park Drive
  • Gracefield Drive
  • Ninth Line
  • Banff Court
  • Yarrow Avenue
  • Barryman Trail
  • Dillingwood Drive
  • Apex Court
  • Rippleton Lane

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.

The utilities company reported that crew have been dispatched to fix the issue and power is estimated to be fully restored around 6:30 p.m.
