Brampton is getting a new Middle Eastern dessert shop, known for its gourmet, chocolate-covered dates.
Palm Bites, which has two locations in Mississauga, is opening a cafe-style shop in Bramalea City Centre, 25 Peel Centre Dr., says co-owner Mustafa Al-Siaudi. The shop is opening in unit 506A, which was home to a pop-up Daniel’s Chai Bar.
The Brampton shop will be cafe-style with a small seating area. They will sell Palm Bites — gourmet dark chocolate-covered dates, filled and coated in nuts. But they will also have baked goods such as cheesecake and cinnamon rolls.
“The cheesecake is phenomenal,” says Al-Siaudi. “That’s a must try.”
There will be smoothies and Arabic ice cream.
They will also have a selection of Lebanese cocktails — a very “Instagramable” non-alcoholic drink with fresh fruits, juice and Ashta (clotted cream).
The Brampton location has a soft opening on Oct. 8 with a grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 15.
Another location is also opening in Mississauga at 3920 Eglinton Ave. W. in December. This will be an “upscale cafe” with a lounge feel.
