A family-owned business which specializes in Middle Eastern date desserts has opened a new location at the south end of Mississauga.

Palm Bites, co-founded by Mustafa Al-Siaudi, opened a new retail location in Port Credit at 167 Lakeshore Road East. Since its inception in 2019, Palm Bites has earned glowing reviews for its use of simple ingredients to make gourmet dates that are filled and coated with nuts. The dates can be an ‘any time superfood’ that are suitable for dessert, and a snack, or breaking out for company. In a video on YouTube, Al-Siaudi says that the day he got the idea to start the business with his father, he actually had some dates with peanut butter as a pre-workout snack before hitting the gym.

All of Palm Bites’ products are gluten-free and are also vegan, unless otherwise stated. All the chocolate it uses is halal, meaning it does not contain alcohol or chocolate liqueur. Palm Bites also uses only kosher-certified ingredients.

The Port Credit store is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

The initial, flagship brick-and-mortar location is in North Mississauga is also at 171 Superior Blvd., Unit 7-9.
