When one grocery store closes, another one opens.

Fast-growing food retail chain Farm Boy will be opening a brand new location at Oakville’s Bronte Village Mall (located at 2441 Lakeshore Rd W) in 2021.

Farm Boy is known for its selection of fresh and organic food products, including produce, butcher quality meats, artisanal cheese, dairy products, plant-based foods, and sweets made from scratch.

The store will replace the Sobey’s location that closed its doors earlier this year.

The new opening is part of an initiative by Empire — the company that owns both Farm Boy and Sobey’s — to open a number of new Farm Boy locations in Ontario and the GTA over the next few years (some of which are being converted from existing Sobey’s locations).

“Farm Boy’s unrivalled fresh food offer and popular private label brand have connected tremendously with customers in Ontario,” said Michael Medline, President and CEO of Empire.

“This format is a clear winner for us and is part of our Project Horizon commitment to grow market share and optimize our store network over the next three years.”

Farm Boy currently has 34 store locations in Ontario.

At this time, there is no exact date for when we can expect the new Bronte location to open.
