Police share new details of Pickering drive-by shooting

New details have emerged of yesterday’s drive-by shooting in Pickering that sent a man to hospital.

The man was shot shortly before 2:30 p.m. March 6 in the Altona Road and Finch Avenue area. When police arrived on scene they found a 35-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds in the driveway of a home.

The victim was conscious when officers arrived and was taken to a Toronto trauma-centre for treatment of his non-life threatening wounds.

In the course of their investigation, police found a car suspected to be the one driven in the shooting burned out in Toronto. The car was taken by Forensic Identification Services, which continues to investigate it.

Durham Police have not released any information or descriptions of a suspect.
