Police seeking to identify driver involved in accident with motorized scooter in Oakville

Police are seeking to identify a driver involved in an accident that occurred with a motorized scooter in Oakville.

According to police, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at approximately 2:55 p.m., a male was operating a motorized scooter in the area of Bronte Road and Lakeshore Road West. 

Police say as he entered the pedestrian crossing, he was struck by a motor vehicle that was turning westbound onto Lakeshore Road West. As a result of the impact, the male was knocked off his scooter and into the intersection. 

While the driver of the motor vehicle did stop and assist the male with getting back onto the scooter and safely off the roadway, the drivers’ information was not obtained at the time and the two parted ways. 

Police say the scooter operator was later transported to the hospital via ambulance with serious injuries. 

In an effort to complete the investigation, police would like to identify the driver of the motor vehicle. The vehicle is described as a two-door red Volkswagen.
