Police have released suspect photos connected to a fire at a Hamilton nightclub.

Fire crews responded to the fire at Sizzle Nightclub at 25 Hess St. S. shortly after 4:30 a.m. last Tuesday (July 18).

Crews encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the outside and the first floor of the building. Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to the second and third floors but the estimated damage was over $500,000.

Fortunately, no one was injured as the nightclub was closed when the fire broke out.

The fire is being investigated as a targeted arson, Hamilton Police said in a press release on July 23. The motive is still under investigation.

There was another fire on July 18 shortly after midnight at 225 East Ave. N. but police do not believe the Sizzle Nightclub fire is linked to any other active investigations at this time.

Police are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects connected to the arson investigation.
