Police on scene of East Hamilton shooting that sent woman to hospital

Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting in the city’s east end that sent a woman in her 20s to hospital Wednesday night (March 24).
Shortly after 11 p.m., police were called to a location near Parkdale and Barton Street to reports of a shooting.
Once on the scene, police say they located a woman in her mid 20’s suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said residents in the area should expect an increased police presence in the area throughout the day Thursday as they investigate the incident.
