Halton Regional Police are investigating an overnight single vehicle accident that left two Oakville teenagers in serious condition and a neighbourhood without power for 10 hours.

Police say the incident, which occurred at around 2:31 a.m. Monday morning on Leighland Avenue at Robarts Rd., involved two Oakville males who crashed into a hydro box.

The 19-year-old driver, along with his 18-year-old passenger, lost control of the Toyota Corolla and crashed into a hydro box before coming to a stop on the lawn of a home.

Both the driver and passenger were taken to hospital with serious, but none-life threatening injuries.

Halton Police tell inhalton.com that no charges have been laid at this time, though the investigation by the Collision Reconstruction Unit is ongoing.

The crash resulted in a 10-hour long power outage in Southwest Oakville in the area of Ridge Rd. to North Service Rd. and Sixth Line to Robarts Rd. Oakville Hydro says power was restored to the area just before 1 p.m. on Monday.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to call 905-825-4747, ext: 5065.
