Police are investigating an attempted arson in Brampton.

Peel police say that just after 4:00 am on July 22, 2021, a lit Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window of a residence in the North Park Drive and Nuffield Street area.

At the time of the alleged incident, there were four adults and two children inside of the residence.

Police say the device did not explode and no physical injuries were reported.

Police say the incident is believed to be targeted.

“Molotov cocktails consist of a glass bottle filled with a flammable liquid. If the device had exploded, it could have destroyed the home and placed the lives of all occupants at risk along with neighbouring homes and their occupants,” police said in a statement.
