Hamilton Police are investigating what they’ve termed the ‘hit-and-steal’ theft of a high-end car.

According to police, the theft occurred on Thursday (April 21) at around 9 p.m. when a 2021 Mercedes was rear-ended by a light-coloured sedan in the area of Mountsberg Road and Milburough Town Line in Waterdown.

Two people who were in the light-coloured sedan exited their car and allegedly assaulted the driver and a passenger in the Mercedes.

The suspects then stole the keys to the Mercedes, as well as personal property from the victims, police said, and then fled the area in both cars.

The occupants of the Mercedes did not sustain any physical injuries during the course of the theft.

The Mercedes was recovered on Friday in Mississauga.

Police believe the suspects targeted this vehicle in this incident. Detectives are working on developing suspect descriptions.
