The future of Trafalgar Road as a major transportation corridor in Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills will be decided over the upcoming months

Halton Region’s Transportation Master Plan – The Road to Change identified the need for additional capacity on Trafalgar Road between Hwy. 407 and Steeles Avenue.

To keep traffic flowing and address forecast travel demand to 2031, Halton Region is initiating a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study to consider a range of options for corridor improvements to Trafalgar Road.

A wide range of transportation improvements will be considered for the corridor including roadway widening, cross-sectional requirements, active transportation, transit supportive infrastructure, intersection improvements, and overall traffic operations.

The impacts of the transportation improvements on the social, cultural, and natural environments will be assessed and evaluated through the study.

A major part of the study will be consultation with residents. Details regarding upcoming Public Information Centres will be advertised as the study progresses.

Upon completion of the study, an Environmental Study Report will be prepared and placed on the public record for a minimum 30-day review period. The document will detail the planning and consultation process and the preferred alternative for the corridor.

For more information on the study and consultation process, visit the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Studies page.
