Pickering neighbourhood reports 15% COVID-19 positivity this week, third highest in Ontario

One area in Pickering is among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario, according to recent data from Toronto-based research group ICES.

ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of October 10 to 16.

Of the top 50 listed, one is in Pickering:

3rd highest positivity in Ontario

For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of October 10 was 1.7%, down 0.1% from the previous week, according to ICES’s data.

ICES noted that the overall percent positivity continued to decline, while testing has also decreased over the past week.
