A Pickering man was arrested for assault last night after allegedly attacking his neighbours with a metal pole.

According to Durham Police, the man was involved in an argument with a teenaged neighbour about noise in the Finch Ave and Huntsmill Dr area of Pickering when things turned ugly

The argument escalated and the man started arguing with the teen’s family as well. Eventually, the man grabbed a pole and attacked a man and two women with it, according to police.

One of the women suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a Toronto hospital for treatment. The other was also seriously hurt, but was treated locally. The male victim suffered minor wounds.

The arrested man, 39, faces two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of a weapon. He has been held for a bail hearing.
