Pickering homes showcased on most expensive homes sold in Durham Region in May list

A custom-built waterfront home in Pickering with lake views and access to a secluded beach topped the list of the most expensive homes sold in Durham Region last month, with the 4,700 sq. ft., 4-bdrm estate selling for $3.6 million.
The Rodd Avenue house boasts breathtaking views and blend of modern design and classic elements that makes it as much a work of art as it is a functional home. Features include 9-11 ft ceilings throughout, multiple decks, top-of-the-line marble, stone and quartz surfaces and a lower level that functions as a separate apartment with its own private entrance and patio.
Just two homes (both in Halton Region) in the Zoocasa Realty sales area sold for a higher price in May: a home in the Eastlake community ($3.998 million) and one in Burlington ($3.7 million).
Rodd Avenue, Pickering
At # 2 in Durham is a 5-bdrm, 6,000 sq. ft home on a 1.5-acre lot on Townline Road in Courtice. The home has a chef’s kitchen, media rooms, a 1,000 sq. ft workshop and a backyard oasis with a saltwater pool. The property sold for $2,975,000.
In the third spot is the second home in Pickering, a 5-bdrm, 7-bath estate on Fairview Avenue in the Bay Ridges neighbourhood that sold for $2,485,000. At #4 is a 4-bdrm home on Coach Crescent in Whitby ($2.4 million), followed by the third Pickering house on the list, a property in Rougemount that sold for $2.15 million.
Number six on the most expensive homes sold in Durham Region list is the fourth from Pickering: a 4-bdrm home in the Highbush neighbourhood that was released for $1.91 million.

There were plenty of relatively inexpensive homes sold in Durham in May too, starting with two bachelor apartments in Oshawa’s University District that sold for $270,000 (1800 Simcoe St. N) and $292,000 (1900 Simcoe St. N), respectively.
At number three is a three-season cottage on Thorah Island on Lake Simcoe – a ten-minute boat ride from Beaverton – that sold last month for $386,000.
Numbers 4, 5 and 6 were all two-bedroom condo apartments. At #4 was an apartment on Glen Road in south Oshawa that sold for $390,000; #5 was a condo in north Oshawa on Taunton Road that sold for $450,000; and at #6 was an apartment in Uxbridge on Main Street that sold for $460,000.
Shore Road, Thorah Island, Brock Township
