Since 1973, Lester B. Pearson Theatre has been home to performing arts groups and organizations in Brampton. In January 2019, the city announced that they will be revitalizing one of the city’s major art infrastructure, Lester B. Pearson Theatre.

After spending $2.6 million, the city aims to enhance accessibility, health and safety features, upgrade technical equipment and create a more attractive space with the recent renovation. This includes a redesigned lobby area, which will serve as a community gathering place for all visitors to the Civic Centre as well as a 400-seat theatre, and adjacent studio space suitable for rehearsals and creative workshops.

The venue is now fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio and lighting systems, fixed seating with an emphasis on accessibility, and completely accessible backstage facilities, including a universal washroom, a conveniently located quick-change room, and spacious dressing rooms.

It also boasts a box office, usher and front of house services, technical staff, and an available concession sales area.

Located at 150 Central Park Drive, Lester B. Pearson Theatre closed in December 2018 to undergo the renovation and is now open for the public.

Mayor Patrick Brown and councillors unveiled the refurbished facility during a ribbon-cutting ceremony this past Saturday (September 28).

Visitors also had the opportunity to meet with Architects and General Contractor Lebel & Bouliane, enjoy a performance from This is Brampton, and explore the upgraded city facility.
