Person trapped after collision in Mount Hope, south of Hamilton

There were reports on Thursday afternoon that a rural roadway south of Hamilton was closed while firefighters worked to free a person who was trapped after a multi-vehicle collision.
Shortly after 5 p.m., the automated Twitter feed of the Hamilton Fire Department showed that crews were responding after a collision near Highway 6 and Haldibrook Road, near Mount Hope. The area is right at the city limit with neighbouring Haldimand County. There were closures on southbound Hwy. 6 at Unity Road and at Chippawa Creek Road, according to Ministry of Transportation real-time information.
At least two vehicles, one of which is believed to be a tractor-trailer, were involved in the collision.
