One person is dead after being struck by a train early this morning (Aug. 12) in Mississauga.

Around 6 a.m., GO Transit received a report of a person struck by a freight train in the area of Cooksville GO station.

Emergency personnel are on the scene.

As a result of the collision, the Milton GO 07:48 – Union Station 08:48 train has been cancelled and all remaining trains will end at Streetsville GO. Customers can then transfer to GO bus shuttles to Port Credit GO to connect with Lakeshore West trains.
