Person dead after being struck by GO Train in Burlington, Ontario

A person is dead following a fatal incident along the Lakeshore West GO Train line in Burlington.

Police say the incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. (April 23) while the person was walking along the tracks near Guelph Line.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances and don’t know why the person was on the tracks.

GO Train service west of Oakville has now been delayed as transit authorities look for alternative modes of transportation for passengers.

Some passengers have said through social media that they have been waiting for trains to move for over an hour.
