Peel Region reporting 76 new COVID-19 cases, 48 in Mississauga and 21 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 76 new COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday (September 22).

Of Wednesday’s new cases, 48 are in Mississauga, while 21 are in Brampton, and just seven are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 115,903 cases. Of these, 114,351 have recovered, while 559 are still pending, 3,401 have been hospitalized, and 994 have died.

As of Wednesday, 58.8 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.8 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 463 new cases on Wednesday, as well as seven new deaths. With 39,092 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.18 per cent—the lowest it has been in a week.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 40,596 vaccinations. As of Wednesday, 75 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 87 per cent of adults, and 81 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
