Peel Region reporting 56 new COVID-19 cases, 35 in Mississauga and 18 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 56 new COVID-19 cases as of Monday (October 4).

Of Monday’s new cases, 35 are in Mississauga, while 18 are in Brampton, and just three are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 116,716 cases. Of these, 115,276 have recovered, while 246 are still pending, 3,435 have been hospitalized, and 1,016 have died.

As of Monday, 58.7 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 37 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.2 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 511 new cases on Monday, as well as two new deaths. With 23,667 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 2.16 per cent.

As of Monday, 86 per cent of eligible residents of over the age of 12 in Mississauga and Brampton have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 80 per cent have received two doses.
