Peel Region reports 55 new COVID-19 cases, 35 in Mississauga and 17 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 55 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (November 5).

Of Friday’s new cases, 35 are in Mississauga, while 17 are in Brampton, and just three are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 118,232 cases. Of these, 116,975 have recovered, while 231 are still pending, 3,495 have been hospitalized, and 1,027 have died.

As of Friday, 58.5 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 37.2 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.2 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 563 new cases on Friday, as well as five new deaths. With 30,187 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.87 per cent.

As of Friday, 88 per cent of Peel residents over the age of 12 have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 84 per cent have been fully immunized.
