Peel Region reporting 55 new cases of COVID-19, 26 in Mississauga and 24 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 55 new COVID-19 cases as of Monday (August 16).

Of Monday’s new cases, 26 are in Mississauga, while 24 are in Brampton, and just five are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 112,666 cases. Of these, 111,371 have recovered, while 409 are still pending, 3,257 have been hospitalized, and 887 have died.

As of DAY, 59.4 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.4 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 526 new cases on Monday, but no new deaths. With 15,784 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 3.33 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 26,033 vaccinations. As of Monday, 72 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 83 per cent of adults, and 75 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
