Peel Region reporting 106 new COVID-19 cases, 52 in Brampton and 48 in Mississauga

The Region of Peel is reporting 106 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (August 27).

Of Friday’s new cases, 52 are in Brampton, while 48 are in Mississauga, and just six are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 113,621 cases. Of these, 112,092 have recovered, while 593 are still pending, 3,318 have been hospitalized, and 937 have died.

As of Friday, 59.3 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.5 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 781 new cases on DAY, as well as 17 new deaths. With 30,063 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 2.6 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 36,195 vaccinations. As of Friday, 73 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 84 per cent of adults, and 77 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
