Pedestrian killed in Mississauga hit-and-run

A woman has been killed in an early morning hit-and-run collision in Mississauga.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday (Oct. 13) near Tomken Rd. and Britannia Rd., according to Peel Regional Police.

Police say a vehicle struck a female pedestrian and fled the scene of the crash.

A police spokesperson was unable to comment on the age of the victim but said the female was not a child.

Police have not yet released a description of the suspect vehicle.

The PRP Major Collision Bureau is investigating, and traffic in the area may be impacted while crews are on scene. Drivers should avoid the area and find alternate routes if possible.
