Museums give visitors a chance to enjoy exhibits and learn new things at the same time. Now PAMA is planning to give Brampton residents and visitors even more experiences to enjoy.
May is Museum Month, and to celebrate PAMA is offering numerous programs, exhibits and even a free admission weekend.
The new exhibits include Zinnia Naqvi: Yours to Discover, Selections from the Vault – Series II, and Our Voices.
Zinnia Naqvi: Yours to Discover is a large-scale outdoor photography-based exhibition that explores the immigrant experience within the natural landmarks and infrastructure of Canada. It runs from May 2 to October 20.
Selections from the Vault – Series II is a rotating display of specially selected works from deep within PAMA’s own vault. It includes landscape, portraiture, photography, Inuit, and abstract art. It runs from May 18 to August 18.
Our Voices features artwork by students from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel working in partnership with PAMA, expressing their stories, memories, dreams and self-identity. It runs from May 18 to September 22.

Each student will leave the workshop with their own embroidery piece, learn the history of the lost technique and enjoy an afternoon of tea and sweets. It will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The Peel Aboriginal Network (PAN) Drumming Circle starts Thursday, May 16 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
The Pretty Dangerous: Women’s Self Defense is a women’s self-defence program created by Asiatic Sifu. It focuses on teaching simple and effective techniques to confidently protect yourself against violent attackers. It will run on Sunday, May 26 from 1:30 pm to 3 pm.
