Police in Port Hope, Ontario have arrested an Oshawa resident following a recent break and enter.

On Friday, Jan. 7, officers responded to an alarm at the health unit and located Oshawa woman Tamara Newton inside the building.

The woman claimed she was an employee with the health unit and had returned to pick up her belongings, according to police.

“The Health unit confirmed Newton was not an employee, nor did they know her,” said police.

Newton was arrested and charged with break and enter with intent, as well as possession of break-in instruments.

She will appear in court in February 2022 to answer to the charges.
