The Greater Toronto real estate market experienced a month-over-month improvement in sales in February, meaning it’s picking up momentum this year. Homes of all types are trading hands, from luxury condos and expensive mansions to studio apartments and bungalows.

The most expensive home sold last month was a modest in size but a three year-old, five-bedroom designer masterpiece in old money Forest Hills in Toronto – location, location, location – that sold for a cool $7.2 million.

Durham Region is not going to compete in that snack bracket but the most affordable home sold? You can count Oshawa in for that, and at #1 to boot.

A bachelor unit in a student housing building at 1900 Simcoe St. N tops the list with the apartment, winner of a ‘Most Innovative Design’ contest, selling late last month for $260,000.

The 500 sq. ft. apartment actually sold for $34,000 less than it fetched nine months ago and has changed hands twice since then.
