It was supposed to be a three-day weekend for the Oshawa Generals as they try to make up games already cancelled by the ongoing pandemic but another cancellation – this time a home game Friday against Hamilton – was added to the list, giving the Oshawa club the chance to grab just six points from divisional rivals.

They had to settle for three after besting the Peterborough Petes 4-1 on the road Saturday before losing 3-1 to the first place Mississauga Steelheads Sunday night.

Ty Tullio, with his 150th point as a General, and Oskar Olausson, with his first goal in his first game with the team, led Oshawa in Friday’s win. Dawson McKinney and Ryan Stepien (into an empty net) had the other Oshawa goals while Corey Stillman scored for Peterborough.

Patrick Leaver stopped 36 shots for the victory.

Sunday night at the Tribute Community Centre Mississauga staked themselves to a 3-0 lead (the last into an empty net) before Stuart Rolofs got the Generals on the board with a power play marker with 1:17 remaining.

Adrian Prueter, Luca DelBelBeluz and Max Dodig scored for the Trout, who extended their points streak to nine games.

The General’s next game action is tomorrow night at home against Kingston.
