Open house at adult education school in Oakville

An Oakville school that specializes in helping adults return to the classroom is hosting an open house next week.

The Thomas Merton Centre for Adult & Continuing Education is welcoming adult learners, students and families on Wednesday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m.

School staff will provide a tour of the school and share information about secondary school credit courses for adult learners, elementary programs, academic upgrading, the co-op program, newcomer programs, language instruction and skills programs offered.

The Thomas Merton Centre for Adult & Continuing Education offers a variety of programs for students and adult learners across Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville, serving more than 10,000 students each year.

Among the offerings are full credit courses for secondary students (summer, night, and day), academic upgrading, summer literacy and numeracy programs for elementary students, international and Indigenous Language programs for elementary students, English language instruction for newcomers and literacy and basic skills programs for adults.

Thomas Merton is located at 255 Morden Rd.
