Ontario Premier Doug Ford to make announcement Monday afternoon

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is scheduled to make an announcement Monday afternoon (Oct. 18) in Tecumseh, Ontario.
Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, will also join the premier for the press conference.
Ford came under fire last week after the province announced that capacity limits in venues like movie theatres, concert halls and stadiums would be lifted to 100 per cent but restaurants, gyms and small businesses remained under capacity restrictions.
A spokesperson for the Province said at the time the change in policy for movies, sports and concerts is because there have been a limited number of outbreaks in these settings.
A plan for fully reopening in smaller settings is expected to be laid out this week.
Ford is scheduled to make the announcement at 1:30 p.m.
