Now that winter is here (well, we know it doesn’t officially start for a few more weeks, but the cold temperatures are here and won’t be letting up anytime soon), you’re probably craving some pho.

And fortunately for you, a brand new–and very unique–pho restaurant has come to town.

Pho Black Bull, which recently opened up on Dundas St. E., offers all the delicious Vietnamese staples you’ve come to expect from a pho place–but it does something a little different with its signature soup.

At Pho Black Bull, the pho is served in a stone bowl.

“Heated on an open flame, this brilliant and innovative stone bowl pho will leave you speechless. From the minute it’s served to your table, the sizzling hot stone bowl will incredibly manage to keep the broth piping hot from start to finish,” the restaurant’s website reads.

According to Pho Black Bull, the broth itself is cooked for over 10 hours–and diners can mix their own ingredients into their pho.

“With the stone bowl bringing out the beautiful aroma of the broth, we have ensured this to be a truly one of a kind experience. A beautiful array of quality and exquisite meats are displayed on a plate for you to personally cook and enjoy.”

The restaurant also offers a unique stone bowl pho with ginseng.

As far as the rest of the menu goes, diners can enjoy spring rolls, chicken wings, pho ga (pho with chicken instead of beef), vermicelli dishes, steamed rice dishes, hot pot and more.

So if you have a hankering for some warm comfort food this month, Pho Black Bull might be more than worth checking out.
