One man dead following fatal motorcycle collision in Hamilton

A man has died and a woman is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries following a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and car, in the City of Hamilton last night.

On Friday (May. 12) at approximately 7:00 p.m., police say a Honda motorcycle travelling northbound collided with a Chevrolet van going southbound at the intersection of Upper Wentworth St/Stone Church Rd E, in the City of Hamilton.

According to police, a 33-year-old man from Hamilton was the operator of the motorcycle and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Chevrolet was a 49-year-old woman, also a resident of Hamilton, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The area of the collision was temporarily closed off for several hours for investigation.

Hamilton Police Service determined that the motorcycle involved in the crash, was on file and previously reported as stolen.
