One dead in single-vehicle accident in Brock Township

A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash near Sunderland over the weekend.

The driver, 58 from Coldwater, was driving down Region Rd 10 through Sunderland in Brock Township around 4:30 p.m. September 16.

The driver, who was behind the wheel of a black 2013 GMC Sierra pickup, left the road and drove into a neighbouring field. Durham Regional Police soon received reports of the crash and responded alongside EMS.

They pulled the driver out of the car and began treatment. However, while EMS worked on the driver, he lost consciousness and later succumbed in hospital.

Investigators think the driver suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

The DRPS Collision Investigation Unit responded and closed down the area for several hours to investigate.
