One dead, another injured after crash involving a motorcycle in Thorold

A collision between a motorcycle and a car along a stretch of highway in Thorold has resulted in the death of one man and injuries to another.

Niagara Regional Police report the incident took place around 7:30 p.m. yesterday (Oct. 5) on Hwy. 20 near the Hwy. 26 overpass.

According to police, the operator of the motorcycle, a Pelham man in his 50s, was found to be in critical condition when emergency crews arrived at the scene. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, a St. Catharines man in his 60s, sustained injuries and was taken to hospital where his condition is considered non-life-threatening.

Hwy. 20 was closed for several hours after the accident but has since re-opened.
