Although median-income earners in Mississauga have been effectively priced out of the housing market, one home is currently for sale for a little less than the maximum affordability threshold for households earning $89,000 a year.

2206-55 Elm Dr. W., a condo apartment in Mississauga’s City Centre neighbourhood, is for sale for $399,900. That amount is about $11,000 under $411,373–the maximum affordability for median-income earners in the city, as calculated by real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa. 

According to the listing, the condo boasts one bedroom, one bathroom and about 599 square feet of space. 

The unit, which also features an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a renovated bathroom, a new washer and dryer and maintenance fees that include all utilities, is priced well below the average condo price.

According to a recent Zoocasa report, the average condo price in Mississauga sits at $629,894–$218,521 above the maximum affordability threshold. 

Townhouses in the city cost about $855,061, semi-detached homes cost about $1,046,247 and detached houses cost $1,563,717.

The average house price–all home types combined–sits at $1,057,232 in the city.

The building the suite is found in also features a number of amenities, including an indoor pool and jacuzzi, a tennis court, a party room, guest suites, a 24-hour gatehouse and more.
