Deodorant, mushroom, foam hair and strollers recalled in Mississauga and Brampton stores

Health Canada reports that multiple products have been recalled from stores in Ontario this week (Nov. 22 to 28) due to potential health and safety risks, including stores in Mississauga and Brampton.

Residents are advised to check if they have these products at home and avoid using or consuming them out of caution.

The following products are affected:


Old Spice and Secret Aerosol Spray Antiperspirant Products

Risk: Benzene has been detected in the recalled products. Benzene is classified as a human carcinogen. Exposure to benzene can occur by inhalation, orally, and through the skin and it can result in cancers including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow and blood disorders which can be life-threatening. The following products are affected:

What you should do: Residents are advised to stop using the recalled product and discard them.


Jongilpoom brand Enoki Mushroom

Jongilpoom – Enoki Mushroom – 200 grams (front)

Risk: Possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick with symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.

What you should do: Recalled food products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased. If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.


Mise en Scène Easy & Speedy Foam hair colouring products

Risk: The recalled products do not have required hazard labelling as required by the Cosmetic Regulations under the Food and Drugs Act. Improper labelling could result in misuse of the product and lead to serious injury.

What you should do: Discontinue use and return to the place of purchase for a refund.


Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Strollers

Recalled Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Strollers (4 colours)

Risk: The stroller’s front wheel bearing can fail or detach, posing a fall and injury hazard. The recalled strollers have SKU number 8060, 8061, 8067, or 8069.

What you should do: Stop using the recalled strollers and contact Joovy for a free repair kit.


Liewood-brand “Rusty Stripes” organic cotton bathrobes and Garbo & Friends-brand “Sand” and “Thyme” hotel robes

Risk: Health Canada has determined that these products do not meet the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear of the Children’s Sleepwear Regulations. Loose-fitting children’s sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear, and once ignited will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child’s body.

What you should do: Don’t allow children to wear the recalled products and contact Les ptits mosüs to return them for a refund.

What you should do: Stop using the recalled self-balancing scooters/hoverboards and contact Razor for instructions on how to obtain a prepaid shipping carton to send the GLW battery pack back to Razor, and to receive a free replacement battery pack.
