Oakville’s COVID-19 numbers continue downward trend

COVID-19 numbers in Oakville are trending downward.

With the town moving into the next phase of Ontario’s reopening plan, Halton Region is reporting a total of 18 COVID hospitalizations with just six of those at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

All of the outbreaks are at congregate living, long-term care and retirement homes.

“Please remember to follow all public health measures and regulations that are in place to keep everyone safe so we can continue on this reopening path,” said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton.

“Getting fully vaccinated if you haven’t done so already will also help us stay on this path and reduce the strain on our local health system and dedicated frontline staff.”
A total of 1,248,929 vaccine doses have been administered in Halton Region.

The seven-day moving average for new ICU admissions among COVID-19 cases in Halton is 0 per cent between Feb. 15 and Feb. 21.

The ICU bed occupancy rate is 91 per cent as of Feb. 21.
