The Oakville & Milton Humane Society says a skunk that ran into a little trouble because of penchant for avocado mayonnaise is free at last and back in the wild.

The furry little animal was found by a member of the public with a mayonnaise container stuck on its head and is one “happy skunk” after having it removed by the local humane society.

“A big paws up to the kind member of the public who reported this skunk to the shelter that had a container stuck on its head,” the Oakville & Milton Humane Society said on its Instagram post.

An officer with the Animal Protective Services was able to safely remove the container with pliers before the skunk injured itself or became infected.

The skunk was then safely released back into the wild.

The local humane society says incidents like these are a reminder that animals have no way of knowing that waste is dangerous for them.

“Make sure to wash out your cans, bottles and other recyclables thoroughly and then place the lids back on before disposing of them,” the local human society said on its Instagram post.  “Please also remove the lids off of any domed cups and cut the lid in two before you dispose it.”
