Oakville man charged in fatal crash near Kitchener

Crash in a remote area near Kitchener that killed one person and seriously injured another has led to charges against an Oakville man.

The incident occurred on October 15 of this year when a black Ford and white Nissan collided in the area of Punkeydoodles Ave. and Oxford Rd. 5.

The driver of the Nissan, a 22-year-old Wilmot Township woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger in the vehicle, a 16-year-old Wilmot Township woman, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Waterloo Regional Police have arrested and charged the driver of the Ford, a 19-year-old male from Oakville, with the following offences: Police have not released his name.

  • Dangerous driving causing death
  • Dangerous driving causing bodily harm
  • Careless driving causing death
  • Careless driving causing bodily harm
  • Speeding
  • Stunt driving

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 20, 2023.
