A noisy car drew the attention of Durham police on Tuesday afternoon in Oshawa, leading to charges for one driver.

The vehicle, which has a loud, modified muffler, was pulled over by an officer of the East Division Durham Regional Police Services and during the traffic stop it was discovered the driver wasn’t even supposed to be on the road.

“Further investigation revealed the driver was suspended,” East Division police said in a tweet on the X platform. “Keep your vehicle in good repair, and don’t drive while suspended.”

One social media follower was happy to see the effort by police.

“More of this,” said X follower Noneya.

East Division officers had a busy afternoon, also pulling over another vehicle with a driving instructor sign on after the driver was caught talking on his cellphone while driving on Russett Dr. in Oshawa.

“The saying ‘Do as I say, not as I do,’ applies here,” said East Division police in a tweet on X.

The driving was given a fine.

“Fortunately, no students were in the car,” said local police.
