Woman’s mysterious disappearance remains unsolved for 27 years

Today (Oct. 3) marks the 27th anniversary of the mysterious disappearance of Audrey Desjardins, from the city of Welland.

A case that has left authorities searching for answers for nearly three decades.

Desjardins was 43 years old at the time of her disappearance and the last known sighting of her dates back to Oct. 3, 1996. She would now be 71 years old.

Her family recently provided photos of the car she was driving at the time. Her red 1985 Ford Crown Victoria, with Ontario licence plate CJM 741.

When she went missing, was described as a white woman, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 115 lbs., with a slim build, long straight blonde hair (dyed), and blue eyes.

Desjardins’ last known clothing description includes a light blue jean jacket, blue jeans, a salmon-coloured sweatshirt, and black running shoes.

The investigation into her disappearance remains an open case.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist in resolving this long-standing mystery.
