Niagara Police release photos of woman believed to be connected to grandparents’ fraud scam

Niagara Police have released photos of a suspect they believe is connected to the “grandparents scam.”
The grandparents scam is where suspects phone the elderly, pretending to be their grandchild and ask them for cash to get out of a legal jam.
Back on June 21, the police got photos (see above and below) of a suspect wanted in connection with a fraud investigation where an elderly complainant was deceived into believing her grandson had been arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and was in immediate need of cash to be released from custody.
Since that time, eight additional elderly victims have come forward to the police after being conned themselves. The suspect shown has been linked to each of these on-going fraud investigations. Traditionally, after the grandparents are called, someone is sent to collect the money.
Niagara Police are asking members of the public for assistance identifying the suspect, described as black female, 35 to 45 years old with her black hair in a bun. She was wearing a white sleeveless blouse, black pants, black sandals and was carrying a beige purse. She has a tattoo on left wrist and may be travelling in a blue/grey four-door vehicle, also shown below.
