When the Provincial Government announced its plan to safely reopen Ontario restaurants and bars, sports and
recreational fitness facilities earlier this week, Niagara-on-the-Lake Mayor Betty Disero could be heard cheering.

As her town depends heavily on tourism, it was a long time coming for Disero.

“This is great news for our community and for businesses continuing to recover from the impacts of COVID-19,” said  Disero.

“We’ve been complying with all necessary regulations and guidelines and it is wonderful to see our hard work is paying off. Let’s keep it up! That light at the end of the tunnel just keeps getting brighter.”

Town CAO Marnie Cluckie said the town would  continue to adapt to all changes rolled out by the Province, keeping public health and safety a top priority.

“Thank you to everyone for your patience and cooperation,” said Cluckie. “As always, we navigate new waters best when we work together.”

She noted under the guidance of the Emergency Control Group, Niagara-on-the-Lake, will continues to prepare for the future reopening of Town Administration Buildings. Details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, Town Staff remains available to serve the public online, over the phone, with arranged curbside pick-up, and by appointment. Go to https://notl.civicweb.net/document/18252 for an outline to getting the town services.
