Blue and white means the Jays did alright! Niagara Falls will be lit up tonight to honour the Jays' return to the post-season.

Niagara Falls Tourism is showing the Toronto Blue Jays some love, turning Niagara Falls blue and white tonight (Oct. 2) to celebrate their upcoming postseason appearance.

The Niagara Falls Illumination Board is scheduled to light both the Canadian Horseshoe Falls and American Falls in blue and white from 10:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

The Jays clinched a playoff berth on Saturday (Sept. 30) when the Seattle Mariners lost to the Texas Rangers, pushing them out of wildcard contention.

Toronto will be making consecutive trips to the postseason for the first time since 2015-16 and the second time since winning the 1992 and 1993 World Series.

The best-of-three wild card format, now in its second season, will see the Jays play Minnesota, starting tomorrow night (Oct. 3). The format was changed in 2022 from the sudden death one-game format that had been in place since 2012.

“Niagara Falls is thrilled to join Canada in cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays as they begin the postseason and their road to the World Series,” said Janice Thomson, President and CEO of Niagara Falls Tourism. “We wish the Blue Jays continued success in Minnesota for the Wild Card Series.”

The Jays acknowledged the nod from Canada’s best-known tourism attraction.

“We are excited for Niagara Falls to join fans from coast-to-coast-to-coast as we celebrate the Blue Jays’ return to the postseason,” said Christine DesJardine, Vice President of Brand and Digital Marketing for the Toronto Blue Jays. “We invite fans to get Next Level Loud this October as Blue Jays rally to bring a World Series Championship back to Canada!”
