The latest scam text making the rounds in Mississauga is targeting people who have recently visited Canada Post.
The new text claims there is a delay with a recently shipped package and encourages the recipient to click a link embeded in the message.

The recipient of this message who reported it to Insauga had just recently visited a Mississauga post office.
These kinds of scam texts are called “smishing” scams by cyber security experts. Such experts like those at TD Bank, advise anyone who receives a text like it to ignore the message.
Even a reply can signal to the scammers that the number is active and open the target up to further messages.
